Pocket for Android is my favourite bookmark and offline reader app. It is also available on the IOS platform.

In its last update, it introduced what it called “Listen” feature. With “Listen,” it’s easy to hear what you’ve saved in Pocket: Just open an article, press “Listen,” and Pocket will read the text out loud using Android’s built-in text-to-speech engine. You can choose the speed at which it reads, and it works with multiple languages.

Unfortunately but expectedly staying true to its restrictive software ecosystem, iOS doesn’t currently provide a text-to-speech API. As it is, Pocket is unable to bring this feature to IOS anytime soon.
